A "New" Vintage Treasure ~ Enamelware Pie Carrier

Have you ever walked into an antique store and a piece "spoke to you"? Something you don't usually collect or even consider buying? That's what happened to me last week at the Salamanca Antique Mall. I usually look for vintage tablecloths, powder compacts, silver, jewelry....but I walked by this vintage pie carrier sitting on an old table in a booth and did a double take.

The shape, the shade of blue, and the GORGEOUS bachelor button flowers....WOW! I had never seen another one like it. I walked past it...but only for a minute or two. I turned around and grabbed it!

I've tried to research it, but no luck. I do believe it's European. It will hold a nice large pie or a small cake.

It's vented in the back.

Has a place for a lock. If I can find I pretty old one, I may just have to use it to keep my son from eating an entire apple pie by himself!

  1. Wow! I've never seen a piece like that! What a find! And you better know things speak to me in the antique mall- too often! Ha! ;)

  2. I love it! Waht a pretty shade of blue.

  3. That would have caught my eye too! I've never seen one either. Very cool!
