I love lily of the valley! It’s so very pretty and smells so
amazing! This little flower offers so much. Truly one of God’s spring gifts.
I was so lucky to find this antique cobalt vanity jar
recently at a thrift store. The raised, hand painted lily of the valleys
against the blue is so striking! Since it was missing its stopper, it’s become
a vase!
So with today's picking from my cottage garden and my new little vase
along with a crystal pitcher that was my husband’s grandmothers, I have this sweet vignette. It's sitting atop an antique pull work centerpiece on my tea table. Sweet and simple. I
don’t think it needs anything else. I’m just sitting back and enjoying the
sight and scent!
I added just few sprigs of forget-me-nots for a touch of more blue. |

ReplyDeleteOh Holly I too LOVE Lily of the Valley! I once had the most beautiful printed cloth and it's one of the few things I wish I had never sold. . . never seen another :(
ReplyDeleteLovely photos my friend!! xxo
Lily of the Valley is another of my favorites..so simple and so perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette!
I am spending a month with my father here in Michigan (I live in NY)and was preparing his flower garden to do some planting... His Lily of the Valley's were sooo fragrant I literally could smell them across the yard! I had to bring a bunch into the house to enjoy. (And they made his "manly" TV room a bit softer!) Would love to find a treasure like the cobalt blue vase you found..... but it would HAVE to go back to NY with me!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous setting~oh, great repurpose for the vanity bottle, it makes a beautiful vase! I think I can smell the Lily of the Valley from here!
